The effective and reliable use of multiple digital media assets is becoming mission-critical for educators in classrooms on many campuses. But this rapid growth has created multiple challenges including purchasing, installation, training, support and maintenance of a bevy of digital media access and
delivery systems. Smart schools are standardizing on command and control systems for these assets that help reduce costs, improve faculty satisfaction, and reduce the support and maintenance load on IT departments. In this one-hour University Business web seminar, your team will learn about the major issues and trends, and specific examples of how a college has embraced standardized control with very positive outcomes. There is no fee to attend thanks to sponsorship by Crestron Electronics.

I was wondering if it would make since to add “dependable” to our first goal as follows:
1. Provide full range of dependable services online for students, employees, and the community.
There have been several instances where systems have gone down, servers did not work, etc. that have discouraged students from continuing with online classes or from trying to seek help through online means. I think that this committee should be looking at the dependability of our equipment and the services we provide and looking into the future is our current equipment going to handle the demands that will be placed on it.
Just a suggestion and a thought.

I agree with Tammi on the need for “dependable” services. We can develop an objective to define what we mean by this: for example an objective could be to insure that services are “up” 98% of the time. From this we may see a need to purchase backup servers.
Sorry I missed the initial meeting; I will be at the one on the 28th of May.

I agree with Tammi and TJ - if it’s NOT dependable students have the option to find online instructional services that are. They are now empowered to do so and will if we can’t offer dependable service. How about this…
“Provide full range of dependable online services for students, employees, and the community.”

I agree, and I like T.J.’s idea of the objective.
